New Microsurgery Offers Migraine Relief Without Ongoing Medication
A new microsurgical solution for migraines, now being performed in Israel, shows promise for long-term relief. Migraine headaches have a significant impact on daily life and cause severe disruption of work, social activity, and overall functioning.
The procedure is designed for selected patients who continue to suffer from migraines despite conventional treatments—whether it be pain medications, preventative drugs, nerve blocks, Botox injections, or biological treatments. Potential patients undergo a screening process for medical history, then a focused physical examination to pinpoint the origin and trace the pathway of the pain. If this microsurgery is chosen, then a small incision between 2 to 3 centimeters long is made within the hairline.
Surgical specialist Dr. Ayman Khoury of Sheba Medical Center identifies and targets the specific “trigger point” where the pain begins due to a nerve being irritated, then decompresses or releases the nerve to reduce or eliminate pain.
“The goal is to break the patient’s cycle of pain. . . . We expose the nerve and examine it under a surgical microscope . . . We work in a small area under magnification, without entering the skull. . . . ” he said.
Unlike other treatments that tend to fade over time, this microsurgery is intended to provide a long-term solution to the pressure on the nerve. Studies of patients found reductions of up to 85% in pain intensity and 70% in attack frequency, as well as improved quality of life.
Praise the Lord for continuing medical breakthroughs in Israel and for their ripple effects which can touch the world with blessing. Pray that God would keep giving Israelis wisdom, skill, and discernment in medicine, technology, and other fields. Pray that the advances made in these fields would bless those in need.
Despite Disarmament Deal, Hamas Distributes Weapons to Operatives as “Personal” Arms
According to the recent post-war Board of Peace (BoP) deal with Gaza, Hamas is required to disarm. After all, the jihadist group has a charter and history of terrorism, and caches of weapons under the control of terrorists is not a good idea for lasting peace. Under the BoP framework, all weapons held by Hamas and other armed groups must be surrendered. This is part of the complete disarmament and demilitarization process, the next stage of which is the withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from Gaza.
However, according to a report from KAN News, it appears that Hamas is once again playing a game of deception.
Despite publicly agreeing with the BoP countries—including Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, and the US—to disarm, Hamas is privately distributing weapons individually and directly to their operatives as personal arms. Their goal? To keep weapons in the hands of Hamas members under the guise of personal ownership.
“Hamas will not disarm. Period,” a Palestinian source asserted.
Pray for the United States and other key players in this peace-and-disarmament deal to recognize the deceitful manner in which Hamas is handling their part of the deal. Pray that the BoP nations would hold Hamas accountable and seize all their weapons so that the deal for peace and its next stages can safely continue. Pray for God to expose the deceit of Hamas and execute His justice.
Charred Wood Beams from First Temple’s Destruction Unearthed in Jerusalem
Archaeologists in Jerusalem recently uncovered rare and touching evidence for one of the city’s most traumatic moments: the destruction of the First Temple over 2,600 years ago.
During excavations in the City of David, researchers discovered massive wooden beams charred by the fire that devastated Jerusalem in 586 BCE, when Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II destroyed the city.
The Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) excavation director Efrat Bocher reported, “The beams appear to have served as the roof of an inner courtyard . . . This discovery makes you feel that you are witnessing the very moment of destruction, the moment when it all happened. It’s deeply moving.”
What makes the find especially remarkable is how well the wood was preserved. Melted plaster from the building’s wall sealed the beams, protecting them for thousands of years.
The IAA’s Dr. Johanna Regev commented: “It is very rare in Israel to find wood with such a large number of growth rings . . . offering significant research potential, with more growth rings enabling higher dating resolution.”
Researchers also believe the ruins may have been intentionally preserved by Jerusalem’s returning residents when they came to rebuild the city. Rather than clearing everything away, they appear to have deliberately left parts of the destruction visible. Thus, they created what culture experts call a “landscape of memory”—to tell the story of the catastrophe and remember what was lost.
Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu said the beams are “tangible evidence of the city’s ancient past” and “a powerful reminder of the Jewish people’s presence in Jerusalem some 2,600 years ago.” He emphasized “our connection to Jerusalem is rooted not only in faith, but also in history, archaeology, and collective memory. . . . It is our responsibility to continue uncovering, preserving, and passing this heritage on to future generations.”
Pray for this discovery to stir Israelis and Jewish people around the world to remember the faithfulness of God that has preserved His people and their heritage despite all odds. Pray that this discovery causes them to hunger to know the Lord and the Scriptures. Pray for a spiritual awakening greater than we have seen already, and for many to come to know Jesus (Yeshua) and walk in His light!
“Agents of Light” Children’s Ministry Camp in Israel
We have just completed our summer camp for children ages 9–12. In recent years, the security situation in Israel has remained unstable, and we often live with the concern that another escalation could begin at any time. Because of this, we have adapted our ministry and now organize smaller camps for 20–25 children. This allows us to remain flexible, and at the same time, give each child more personal attention.
Once again, we saw that the Lord brings exactly those who need to come. Most of the children attending this camp come from not-yet-believing families. This created a unique opportunity not only to introduce the children to God’s Word, but also to build relationships with their parents and share the gospel with whole families.
The theme of the camp was “Agents of Light.” We transformed the program into a fictional “Heavenly Security Agency,” and every child became a special Agent of Light. During the week, we spoke about light and darkness, good and evil, and the many voices competing for our hearts. Most importantly, the children learned that Yeshua is the true Light of the world, and that becoming an Agent of Light begins with receiving and following Him.
The five days were filled with worship, prayer, Bible lessons, games, swimming, creative activities, visits to an indoor play center, pizza-making, desserts, and many personal conversations. Every child carries a unique story. Some come from difficult or broken family situations and carry emotional pain that is not always visible. For many, this camp became more than a time of fun—it was also a place of safety, friendship, encouragement, and emotional healing. We know that each child heard the salvation story of Jesus and His love for them.
We pray that these children grow close to Him and ask the Lord to be the Light of their lives!
