It has been ongoing since Jesus first walked the earth. Chosen People Ministries has been serving Jewish people for the past 131 years. Our ministry endured the Spanish flu, World War I and World War II, the rise and fall of the Soviet Union, the Great Depression, the battles
surrounding the formation of Israel in 1948, the ColdWar, and more.
During our many years of service, Your Mission to the Jewish People has deeply appreciated multiple generations of families who have supported our ministry and passed along a love for the Jewish people to each generation. We hope the following testimony of one
family—who are among many families who have sustained us over the years—will encourage you to pass your passion on to the next generation of Jesus followers, especially in a time of an alarming increase in antisemitism and violence against God’s chosen people.
Dixon Family Testimony
For four generations, the Dixon family supported Jewish evangelism, starting with its great-grandfather, Hector. He was a pastor who would always preach about the restoration of Israel. Now, his great-granddaughter works for Chosen People Ministries! We interviewed the family about how their love for Israel began.
Hector was a Baptist preacher in the 1950s, not long after the Second World War and the Holocaust. Hector’s daughter, Vivian, remembered the day he preached on Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” That sermon, she said, gave her an understanding of the Jewish people as God’s chosen people and that Christians are supposed to have God’s heart for the Jewish people as well. She said that it “planted a seed that later grew into a heart for Jewish evangelism and a love for Israel and its people.” Hector’s passion to inspire his congregation to love the Jewish people and share the gospel with them not only deeply impacted Vivian but also her brother, who would later also serve with a Jewish ministry in the Baltimore area. Vivian had a daughter, Cassidy, who also understood that the Jewish people were special in the eyes of the Lord. Vivian instilled in Cassidy this same heart and burden for the salvation of Israel. Cassidy had a daughter, Sheila, who inherited this same love and passion to see Israel come to faith in Jesus, the Jewish Messiah. Sheila described a core childhood memory in which her mother points out the State of Israel on a map to her while emphasizing its importance. Cassidy said, “See that tiny strip of land there? That is the nation of Israel; they are God’s chosen people, and that is where Jesus came from. God loves them very much.”
Though she was the youngest, Sheila encouraged the family to support the work of Jewish evangelism through Chosen People Ministries! In college, Sheila joined a Christian organization that focused on Israel. This experience sparked a passion within her and ignited a calling to Jewish ministry, which ultimately led her to work with Chosen People
Ministries. Her service with the ministry inspired both her mother and grandmother to financially support Jewish evangelism.
During Chosen People Ministries’ most recent tour of Israel, three generations of the Dixon family—Sheila, Cassidy, and Vivian—all travelled together to the Holy Land. They returned from Israel with beautiful testimonies of how their trip to Israel invigorated their heart for Israel and the Jewish people. Over the years, Vivian would say that God has blessed her in many ways for supporting Jewish ministry—spiritually, physically, and often times financially.
Teaching the Younger Generation
The testimonies of families supporting the work of Jewish evangelism, through organizations like ours, emphasize the importance of teaching children to love Israel and share the gospel with the Jewish people, and provide a valuable lesson to the younger generations. Training children to live for the Lord is encouraged in the Bible. For example, Ephesians 6:4 teaches, “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Proverbs 22:6 advises, “Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Raising our kids to know the Lord also means teaching them to share the good news with Jewish people. God cares deeply about reaching the Jewish community, and Paul reminded us of this when he wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).
When we bring up our children in the ways of the Lord, it should include helping them share the love of Jesus, the Jewish Messiah, with Jewish people. God worked in beautiful ways through the Dixon family and others, planting a love for the Jewish people in their hearts that has been passed down from one generation to the next.
Antisemitism among Younger Generations
For more than a century, Chosen People Ministries has been sharing the good news of the Messiah with Jewish people, and we have witnessed a great deal of history unfold during that time. Antisemitism and false accusations against the Jewish people are nothing new. Our newsletters, dating back to the late 1800s, demonstrate the enduring nature of this hatred. With the alarming rise in antisemitism that we have seen since October 7, 2023, especially among young people, it is more important than ever that we do not repeat the mistakes of the past. Instead, we need to pass on God’s heart for Israel to our children and grandchildren along with the calling to share the gospel with His chosen people.
Studies show that both Christian and non-Christian young people, particularly Gen-Z and Millennials, support Israel much less than previous generations and are more likely to hold antisemitic views. According to the latest worldwide survey on antisemitism, published in 2025 by the Anti- Defamation League, “Respondents younger than 35 also have elevated levels of antisemitic sentiments (50 percent), 13 percentage points higher than respondents over 50.”1 While the numbers are less severe among Christians, there is still a demographic disparity of antisemitism and a lack of support for the State of Israel among our younger generation.
These troubling numbers should motivate us to share God’s love for His chosen people with our kids and help them catch that same passion for telling Jewish people about Jesus. If we fail in this mission, the growing antisemitism among young people—including young Christians—could
have heartbreaking results, including fewer believers reaching out to Jewish people and fewer Jewish people discovering faith in Jesus.
Passing Along a Love for the Jewish People
God often plants a seed that takes root in one generation and blooms in the next. When we support sharing the gospel with Jewish people, we are not just reaching them today—we are starting a ripple effect that touches lives across generations, continents, and decades.
The Dixon family’s story shows us this beautiful pattern. When one generation embraced Jesus as Messiah, it opened the door for God’s salvation, blessing, and provision to flow through their family line for years to come, reaching relatives in different times and places around the world.
Right now, this work matters more than ever. We are seeing younger people—both believers and non-believers—grow increasingly indifferent or even hostile toward Israel and the Jewish people, which is why we need to keep sharing God’s love with His chosen people and standing against antisemitism until Jesus returns.
Chosen People Ministries invites you to pass down this heart to the next generation in your own family. It is the same heart that Paul described to the Romans: “Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for [Israel] is for their salvation” (Romans 10:1). Teach your children and grandchildren about God’s deep love for the Jewish people and His call for us to share the good news of the Messiah with His ancient people. What you plant today in their hearts will bear fruit for generations to come.
